Diversity Day 2014

DSCF1912MHCO residents and staff celebrated our 6th annual Diversity Day this year with a taste of North Carolina’s earliest settlements.

We learned about lots of different North Carolina peoples, like Quakers, Highland Scots, coastal pirates, Moravians, and Palatine Germans.

One of the highlights of the day was a performance by the North Carolina State University Pipes & Drums club. They played, marched, and danced a very disorganized but joyous Scottish reel with all the kids and staff.

We finished off the afternoon with homemade peach ice cream and Moravian cookies.
